We've Come This Far by FAITH!

Praise the Lord for His marvelous works!  He has graciously provided funding needed to complete the foundation, the flooring for the ENTIRE building and all BLOCK WORK including ELECTRICAL works that must be installed during the construction of both the interior and exterior concrete walls!  Oh, how we praise Him!

We are now asking the Lord to provide for the ROOF and RAFTERS.  PRAY for God's continued provision.  Construction is on schedule and is due to be completed by next April or early May if funds continue to come in so as not to halt the construction.

THANK YOU for praying and giving to this great need.  It will be so wonderful when this beautiful building is complete for His glory!

Jesus IS Our Cornerstone

On November 2, 2010 at 12:30 PM, the CEF staff gathered at the property to pray and commit the FIRST building block to the Lord. Words cannot begin to express the overflow of praise and JOY in our hearts as we witnessed this moment. REJOICE WITH US!

Our contractor estimates that  this phase, which will include pouring the concrete slab flooring, will be complete before Christmas, as long as the weather remains good. (For your information, November 1 is the beginning of our hurricane season.)

Pray with us that Jehovah-jireh will continue to provide for the rest of the needed funding.  We have only ONE-THIRD of the building funds on hand.  Therefore, we continue to trust the Lord for His amazing and bountiful provision.  Have YOU had a part yet in what God is doing here?

We (the Bryant family and Shoma)  watched as the excavator arrived on site and began to effortlessly push down the remaining walls.

Our vision of faith is becoming reality!

The Walls Are Tumbling Down

We've certainly stepped out in faith!  We were able to sign the contract for the first phase of construction Sunday afternoon, 26th September 2010. This phase MUST be completed before the rainy season begins in December. This phase will also preserve our building permit which was due to expire in 2011.

You can see the early results of three days of demolition. The walls should be tumbling down within the next 24 hours.

We learned that as of September 22nd, more than $20,000 came into CEF International Headquarters designated for the Moriah Project.  An additional one thousand dollars was given recently by co-workers attending the CEF Asia Pacific Conference in Cambodia.  The national directors of 22+ countries chose to adopt the Moriah Project as the regional missions project.

We need approximately $165,000 to meet the $75,000 challenge which ends in less than 24 hours on the 30th of September.  Thank you for PRAYING and GIVING!

PENNIES from HEAVEN

CEF of HAWAII recently completed their summer ministry of 5-Day Clubs and used The MORIAH PROJECT as their missions project in their summertime Bible clubs.

TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY THOUSAND PENNIES were given in their missionary offerings.  This comes to a total of $2,400.00 and is the equivalent of approximately $4,500.00 in Fijian currency!  This is such an INCREDIBLE BLESSING.

Dr. John Dekle, State Director of CEF Hawaii, reports that folks in a NURSING HOME lovingly counted and rolled all of these coins for us.  Isn't it heartwarming to see God use the young and the "never too old to serve the Lord"?  God bless them everyone!

We have close to 35% pledged or given toward the overall construction cost of CEF Fiji's new office and training hall.  PRAY for GOD's miraculous provision!  Contact us for further information on how to give!  Every CENT COUNTS... just ask these children who gave!

Newspaper Ad - PRAY FOR IT

This "ad" is due to appear in the national newspaper The Fiji Times on Thursday, July 8th, 2010.  Please join us in praying that God will guide the hands of the editors and that it will be placed in a prominent place where MANY people see it and RESPOND.

Our need is critical and urgent.  We have LESS than 90 DAYS to raise USD $197,000.00  (Approximately F$400,000) by September 30th, 2010.  This is the deadline set by a Christian couple overseas who has pledged to give US$75,000 to the Moriah Project...IF...we raise the balance of USD $225,000.00 by Sept 30th.

We Have Over One-Third! PTL!

Our hearts are so encouraged!  We now have over one-third of FUNDS needed for construction of our new building.  With gifts received and gifts pledged, we stand at US$103,000.00!  We need only US $197,000 more!  He is able!

Came across this verse this morning:
HABAKKUK 2:3
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

The LORD has brought us so far and the CEF property in FIJI is looking beautiful.  Here are a couple of pictures showing the latest aesthetic additions placed there to draw attention to HIM.

The Christian flag and the national flag of Fiji are now proudly displayed in front of the CEF property.  The brand new concrete slab at the main gate is intended to warmly welcome those whom we serve!

GLITCHES RESOLVED (We hope!)

We thank you for bearing with us.  Some of you have reported that you were not able to download the special Missions Kit that we prepared for you.  THANK YOU  for alerting us to those problems.  We're working SO HARD (almost around the clock) to get these missions helps into your hands.  We want them to work and we want them to be a blessing to you in your ministry to children.

Clicking the links in the blue sidebar should now allow you to download these presentations as a PPT, PDF or TXT file.

May the Lord bless you and the children as you teach missions and present The MORIAH PROJECT.  We are so grateful to you!

An Amazing Challenge!

You can't imagine how God is choosing to answer your prayers for the funds to build the new national office/training center.  We are in AWE of our Lord's creativity.

A couple from IRELAND learned about the Moriah Project through a CEF ministry briefing. They have promised to give via their foundation USD $75,000.00 (approximately FD $142,000.00) which is 25 % of the construction costs!  Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude and praise.

However, this gift will be given ON THE CONDITION that other people, churches or groups contribute to the remaining 75% of costs (USD $225,000.00 or FJD $425,000.00) BEFORE the 30th September 2010.  Within 24 hours of issuing the challenge, USD $6,000.00 (FD $11,000.00) was pledged. An update on the money already in the Moriah account at CEF International Headquarters shows an additional USD $5,000.00 came in this past month.  Therefore, we have  USD $11,000.00 (or approx. FJD $ 20,400.00) towards this amazing challenge.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO SPREAD THE WORD about this incredible CHALLENGE to GIVE.
  • Will you forward the challenge on to friends on your email list, Facebook, Twitter, or other account?
  • Will you tell others about the challenge?
  • Will you join us in praying that God will prompt His children to accept this amazing challenge?

Whatever the Lord leads you to do, we will praise HIM and thank Him for your willingness to join your HANDS with our HEART!

Water Woes at the Wall

We rejoice over the beautiful boundary fence that is nearing completion at the CEF office. The gates have been fabricated and are ready to be installed within the next week. Undercoat painting has begun. The electrician has finished all the wiring. Security lights will be installed on each column once the painting is completed. We are thankful for the security this will add to the property.

However, there are water woes at the wall! Yesterday, the construction crew noticed that a portion of the wall  was wet and that a pool of water was accumulating near the main driveway (pictured above right). A plumber came to investigate. An old galvanized pipe within our compound which should have been blocked off years ago was running water. That pipe was "crimped" which slowed its output to a trickle. The plumber then determined that the majority of water is again coming from  the  Lautoka main water pipe (at far end of the picture above, near the house).

PRAY that the Water Authority of Fiji will quickly come THIS WEEK and replace the lead galvanized water pipe which is rusting  with a PVC line for our entire street BEFORE damage occurs to the foundation of our wall. We are concerned, of course, over health issues: these pipes are providing potentially harmful water for our neighbors and the school across the street.

Concrete Work Complete!

We are so grateful to the men of the construction crew who have worked long, hard, HOT hours under the tropical sun to complete the foundation of the fence and the cement boundary walls.Electricians have already installed the conduits for the wiring of the security lights. The men have also installed a 64 meter (210 feet) chain-link fence between us and our next-door neighbor.
The crew did discover a SECOND leak in the government water line which need to be repaired as water is seeping into the foundation trench.  PRAY that the Water Authority of Fiji will come soon to repair the broken pipe.

This week, the welders will be on site to begin installing the steel rods that go between the columns. Another team of men will continue digging the new drainage ditches for the "V-drains" which border both streets. Painters will also be on site to begin painting the complete wall.

We have had some fun choosing the electric light globes that will
sit on top of each column.  We also chose the paint for the cement blocks. We chose carefully as the future building will be the same colors!

THANK YOU for rejoicing with us over the progress of the security fence.

Construction Under Way!

Good progress has been made in the past two weeks.  Huge amounts of earth have been moved around and dug up around the CEF property.  We would have never imagined that so much would have gone into the construction of our boundary fence which is going to be beautiful!

Workers discovered that the soil was extremely wet which then led to the discovery of a broken water pipe which had to be repaired.  The foundations have been dug and the concrete was poured in on Friday, Feb 12th.  Block layers were able to begin their work on Saturday, Feb. 13th and put in at least 250 blocks.

On Monday of this week, the workers will again be pouring the foundation for the retaining wall / fence along the road side of the property.  It measures 64 meters (210 feet) in length!  It's thrilling to see this progress being made.  In that the CEF property is on the main thoroughfare leading into our city, everyone who's passed by has noticed the piles of blocks, the mound of dirt and busy construction workers.  We were told today in church that "so many people are talking about what's happening at the CEF office".  That's great news for us!  Workers are aiming to complete the boundary fence by the first of April.

Ground-Breaking News!

What a joy it was to finally break ground for the Moriah Project!  On January 31, 2010, we were able to have a Sunday afternoon ground-breaking service for the new boundary fence at the national office of Child Evangelism Fellowship of Fiji.  Pictured here with Kent is the contractor and architect of the project.

This was a long-awaited day.  The Moriah Project began in June 2005 and God has surely brought us a long way.  How we praise Him for His provision of the property and now for the funds which allows us to begin the construction of the boundary fence.

Pray for God's continued blessing and provision of the funds to build the new office and training hall.  Also, pray for God's protection over those who will be working on the construction site.  To God be the glory, Great things He hath done!
